The University of Wisconsin River Falls Swim & Dive team is in jeopardy of suspension! The University’s pool is no longer functioning as of this school year. A new aquatic facility is in the planning stages but probably won’t be ready until 2013. The athletic directorand chancellor are considering suspending the swim & dive program after this year until the new facility is open. The team has been practicing at the River Falls High School pool, which is not far from campus. It is a nice pool, eight lanes with plenty of space for the team. The team and coaching staff want to continue and the thought of having the program suspended is very tragic to the many dedicated swimmers, divers, coaches, parents, & fans of UW River Falls swimming & diving. This morning the head coach of the team, Bill Henderson appeared on Swimming World Morning News. The link to his interview is attached (you will have to first watch Natalie Coughlin’s interview about her latest performance on “Dancing With the Stars” first). Click on the link and then click on the first story on the left side of the screen that begins with “The Morning Swim Show, Oct. 2, 2009: Rio Selected for 2016 Games, Natalie Coughlin on Second Week of Dancing, Wisconsin College Swimming Team in Jeopardy”
As you probably know, Raymond is a swimmer on this team and was thrilled to find a school that met his needs: near the Twin Cities where he could pursue his passion for swimming while getting a good education. Please help the team! What you can do to help is to email the chancellor and athletic director of UW River Falls and show your support for the team and ask them not to suspend the program. Their email addresses are provided below. Please copy the coach and the us at firstname.lastname@example.org on your emails as well.

Thanks so much and God bless your weekend!
