Hello all! Greetings from snowy & cold Wisconsin!

We are writing this from Raymond & Hannah’s (our kids apartment) in River Falls, WI and are reflecting on the past several weeks in the US. A plethora of emotions abound while preparing to return to our work in Guinea. We are excited, a little nervous, and definitely dreading the travel! When is teleportation gonna be possible??  : )
As we prepare to go – we ask for your prayers…….
We are THANKFUL for:
– many wonderful visits with family & friends
– many opportunities to connect with our brothers & sisters in Christ at our supporting churches
– thanksgiving that the needed funds to complete the Growing in Grace Church Outreach Center and to renovate the building in town given to our mission by the Government of Guinea have been received! Thank you for your financial support!
– successful should surgery for Jack (impingement & rotated cuff repair)
– good reports from our physicians after many appointments
We also reflect on what God has ahead for us in Guinea in 2013 and ask that you join us in PRAYER for:
– safe & uneventful travel (Minneapolis – Chicago – Brussels – Conakry, Guinea – Mamaou – Siguiri) pray for on-time flights, comfort during travel (especially for Jack), uninterested customs agents (we are traveling back with lots of supplies for our clinic), and safe road travel to Siguiri with no car problems etc.
– peace in Mali, our neighboring country to the north of Guinea where war is in full swing, and that those events would not effect Guinea
– the short-term Medical Team from St Michaels Lutheran Church in Bloomington, MN as they wrap up their final preparations to join us in Guinea very soon – they arrive February 4. Pray also for their time with us – safe travel around the country and plenty of opportunities to share the love of Jesus through health care
– good physical health for both of us – and especially for Jack – as his shoulder heals and as he continues to serve the Lord in Guinea despite his Parkinson’s Disease
–  for another short-term team who is preparing to come and serve with us in Siguiri in late May – that all of their preparations would go smoothly
– that God would continue to use us to bring the love of Jesus to the Maninka people and that many doors would be opened for the Good News
– for our children, Raymond & Hannah, who will miss dearly (sad parental hearts) – that their Spring semester studies would go well and that God would keep them in His care
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers & support. It means so much to us. We will be in touch as we are able.
