Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

We thank you for your prayers, friendship, financial support, and encouragement. It is truly wonderful to partner with other followers of Jesus the way we have been able to partner with all of you over the past several years!
We wanted to provide you with an update on our situation.
As you know, we are currently in the US pursuing some new medical treatment for Jack’s Parksinson’s Disease (PD). God has been faithful in sustaining Jack’s health and we feel privileged to have been able to serve the Lord in Guinea up to this time despite the health challenges. God has blessed the efforts in Guinea, allowing many people to not only hear about Christ’s love but experience it in a tangible way through health care. However, it has become clear to us that we cannot return to Guinea at this time.  With the guidance of Jack’s neurologist, Jack is preparing to have a surgery, Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), as a treatment for his PD.He does not yet have a surgery date, but we hope to have one soon. We will share that date with you when we have it.
What does this all mean? We wish we had all the answers, but we don’t. Where will we serve in the future? Will we return to Guinea? Only God knows that and we know he will reveal things to us in his good and perfect timing.
Jack is now on a short-term medical disability through our insurance company. Cathy has been placed on an unpaid, 3-month Leave of Absence. This has been a very difficult time for us and we humbly ask for your continued prayers for strength, guidance, and patience as the future seems quite uncertain at this time in many ways – health, finances, future direction, etc.
Please also continue to pray for everyone back in Siguiri. Pray for Growing in Grace Lutheran Church as they continue to witness to the community and pray also for all of the ‘seeds’ that have been planted there, that they may grow and many may come to know Jesus as Savior and Redeemer.
If you have any questions or would just like to connect – as always, we would love to hear from you. Please email us:
We will be in touch. God’s blessings!
Living in the Love of Jesus,
Jack & Cathy Carlos
